I fought Maerwald recently with 2 different saves. Honestly, gear and stats play a big part in your game, but nothing compared to positioning, strategy, and execution. Or DW? Or DW with a shield, which is a thing in Deadfire?

They can all be tanks in the first game, and more easily with multiclassibg ib Deadfire.ĭo yoy want to be ranged again. If this is all too vague, sorry, and I'll take my ball and go elsewhere, but does anyone have any suggestions for my admittedly scant idea? I'm leaning towards trying to be as fast and have as little recovery time as possible, but then I was also thinking it would be fun to fight with a quarterstaff, but, uh, I guess those ideas are a little bit cross-purposes, eh? I don't have a ton of specific ideas on the melee front. Eder the Swashbuckler was a lot more interesting to me than Eder the sarcastic wall in the first one. I'm trying to figure out which one (if any) would be better– if I just wanted to do a lot of damage, it seems like I should go for Barbarian, and if I just wanted to not die constantly, I should go for fighter – but, boringly, I'd kind of like to do both. So I'd be, perhaps, a Fighter or Barbarian in Pillars, then switch to being a Psyblade or a Witch in Deadfire. Specifically, I was thinking it would be fun to play the first game as a melee muggle, then decide that having Watcher powers has helped them incorporate weird psychic stuff into their fighting style.
PILLARS OF ETERNITY 2 MODWYR FULL
It was bloody awesome, but after about the fifth time that she got knocked out as Eder stood there with almost full health, I thought perhaps it might be fun to do a second playthrough with a less squishy character.

A while ago I finished my first playthrough of Pillars and Deadfire with a glass cannon orlan Cipher gun-mage.
